FIT KIDS
Statistics show that there are roughly 1, 858,000 kids in the DMV area; 200,000 of which are from African descent in the Washington DC Metro area (DMV) between the ages of 5 and 17. At least 60% of that population hardly has a healthy habit, either out of lack of access to resources or lack of opportunities or any other reason. Instead, kids today are either idle, inactive, addicted to videos games, electronics, etc…
Clinical studies show that intermittent sports, knowledge challenges activities and recreation programs help youth establish lifelong, healthy, physical activity patterns. Experts suggest that regular physical activity can ward off life-threatening diseases; reduce feelings of depression and anxiety; help control weight and obesity; and build and maintain healthy bones, muscles, and joints.
